The Emperor announces that Antara's condemnation of Imperial actions to support Russia are baseless and outrageous. Imperial forces are merely there to observe developments, not to actively take part in a conflict.

January 14, 1901 Russian forces capture the city of Ezurum, 2000 Russian casualties, 6000 Ottoman casualties. Russian artillery began firing on the city on the 11th, while Russian cavalry and infantry fought in the hills outside the city. Meanwhile, Armenian and Turkish revolutionaries began to disrupt military activity in the city. Eventually, and Armenian revolutionary, aided by a group of Turks, destroyed the main line of communication out of the city, and alerted Russian forces of this. The Russians quickly made their way into the city before reinforcements could be alerted, and eliminated the remaining Turkish troops from the city.

January 14, 1901 The British Mandate of Persia, (A British puppet regime in Persia), in an effort of self preservation, announces official diplomatic support to the Russian government. The Prime Minister of the British Mandate of Persia even offered Russian armed forces free passage through the Mandate's land, raising many eyebrows in the political theater of the British Empire.

January 15, 1901 The Russian Emperor has embarked on a journey to the capital of Persia, to strengthen ties with the British Mandate. The Russians have pledged their own forces in support of whatever the Persians desire, eliciting a formal warning from the British government.

January 15, 1901 Russian forces reach the Ottoman province of Van. A special cavalry unit led by Lieutenant Saku Hakkinen (Finnish Second Cavalry Regiment) is to scout ahead of the main force. The main force, consisting of two artillery brigades, two cavalry brigades, and three infantry regiments, is to make haste towards Van.

January 18, 1901 Many countries, most notably Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Scandinavia, Canada, Australia refused Russia's pleas to halt exports to Antara, saying that they had no quarrel with Antara and that trade was vital with them. Antara denounced Russia's aggressive attempt at hurting the nation.

The League of South American nations, a Brazilian-led alliance, declares an embargo on Antara until they renounce their aggressive and baseless denunciations. A joint South American naval squadron is deployed to the south Atlantic. It is composed of 1 Brazilian battleship, 2 Argentinian Cruisers, and an outdated Venezuelan steam corvette. The only nations in South America who denied the embargo were Bolivia and Paraguay.

January 20, 1901 Three Ottoman infantry regiments approach the exposed and unsupported second Finnish cavalry. The Ottomans are successfully held at bay for two days with a loss of 554 Finns, and 1370 Ottomans. The Finns were eventually reinforced by the main force.
